Undercovers - Leaked Script?

Thanks to Arianna for the following.

we are an italian online magazine, Il Post, and we've obtained the script of the Undercovers' pilot, the new tv series created by J.J.Abrams and Josh Reims for NBC. We decided to publish just the first 20 pages of it, and let's say we have reasons to think it is the real thing.

LOST Director Jack Bender's New Show Alphas Already Casting

LOST Director Jack Bender's New Show Alphas Already Casting

SyFy is currently in pre-production on a new 90 minute series pilot titled "Alphas" aka "Section 8". The network has signed "Lost" director and executive producer Jack Bender as director/executive producer for the action-adventure pilot. The show follows a team of ordinary citizens who possess extraordinary and unusual mental skills and take the law into their own hands.

The show has had a rough 2 year ride to this point. Originally as "Section 8," the drama was first pitched to NBC through BermanBraun's first-look deal there. After NBC decided to pass, the project attracted much interest among the other networks during the summer of 2007, ending up at ABC with a six-episode mid-season order for a potential launch behind "Lost."

The show was in pre-production, and writing on the first episode was underway, when the WGA strike stopped production. After Video game developer TimeGate Studios reached a settlement with ABC over the show's title in March of 2008, the name "Section 8" was abandoned. ABC eventually dropped the show after "increasing discomfort with the show's science fiction elements". Now Syfy has picked it up and renamed the show "Alphas".

Dexter - New Season 5 Spoilers and Casting News

Dexter - New Season 5 Casting Spoilers

The cast of Dexter will gather in early June to shoot Rita's funeral. I'm crying already...

In preparation, the Showtime series is on the
lookout for a funeral director and several mourners. Expect a closed casket, as Julie Benz will be busy following up her stint on Desperate Housewives by playing a super speedy mother in ABC's No Ordinary Family.

There will also be some new faces gathering around Dexter to fill the void left by Rita's tragic death. An "Agent Walker" will be a new male face at the FBI quarters, while a sweet 60-something couple named Molly and Bill should provide Dexter and his sister Debra with some much-needed extra hands in the raising of motherless kids Astor, Cody and Harrison.

Dexter - New Season 5 Spoilers - Look Who's Back!?

Dexter - New Season 5 Spoilers - Look Who's Back!?

Now this is what I call a killer twist: Julie Benz is returning to Dexter — as Rita!

Sources confirm to me exclusively that Benz — whose onscreen murder at the hands of the Trinity Killer was deemed by EW.com to be the most shocking death in TV history — has signed on to reprise her role as Dexter’s late bride in the first episode of season 5 (debuting this fall).

What? How? Why? Keep reading for answers to those three questions and more…
Specific details of Rita’s “resurrection” are being kept under wraps, but I’m told she is not coming back from the dead. New showrunner/executive producer Chip Johannessen also rules out a spectral visit a la Dexter’s late pa, Harry. “We’re not going to do some ghostly thing with her,” he says. Adds fellow exec producer Sara Colleton: “We reserve those for Harry. If you have too many things like that it becomes gimmicky.”

So how exactly will Benz — who will shoot her Dexter episode before starting work on her new ABC drama, No Ordinary Family — be revived? A Showtime rep would only add that the presence of Rita will “help Dexter deal with his newfound feelings of loss and grief — emotions he has never really felt before.”

Glee - Renewed For 3rd Season

In a huge vote of confidence for the zeitgeist-cracking drama, Fox has ordered a third season of Glee from Ryan Murphy Television and 20th Century Fox TV, EW has learned exclusively.

Season-to-date, Glee is the No. 1 new scripted series among adults 18-49 and adults 18-34, and has averaged 9.4 million total viewers. During its spring telecasts, the musical dramedy, starring Jane Lynch, Matthew Morrison, and Lea Michele, averaged a 5.6/14 among 18-49 and 13.3 million viewers. It wraps its first season on Tuesday, June 8. “In just one year, Glee has transcended the television landscape and emerged as a global pop culture phenomenon,” said Peter Rice, the Fox Networks Group Entertainment Chairman, in a statement.

Added Fox Entertainment President Kevin Reilly, “Everything about Glee – from the concept to the characters to the marketing – has been innovative and risky, but with [series creator] Ryan Murphy tapping into the zeitgeist, the risk has paid off with this truly remarkable series. Glee has one of the most active, devoted fan bases I’ve ever seen, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to give Gleeks a third season of their favorite show.”

Murphy also released the following statement: “It’s been a whirlwind year – from shooting the pilot to performing at the White House to the concert tour that began last week – and yet we all feel like we’ve just begun this amazing musical journey. We think our Gleeks worldwide are going to love what we’ll have in store for them in seasons two and three.”

Along with the positive message it sends about the network’s commitment to the show, there are numerous financial benefits to giving a series like Glee a two-year pickup. Not only does it help cut production costs over the long haul, it allows Murphy and his writers a chance to plan ahead (if not breathe a much-needed sigh of relief). Most important, it gives the studio a head start in taking the episodes out into the syndication marketplace. Promising new dramas like NCIS: LA and The Mentalist, for example, sold in syndication in their first and second years, respectively.

In the next original episode, airing on May 25, Glee will feature the music of Lady Gaga when Will (Morrison) encourages the glee club members to express themselves using the pop superstar’s music. Meanwhile, Rachel (Michele) has a life-changing encounter, and Tina (Jenna Ushkowitz) embraces her inner goth.

The second season of Glee, which has already earned a Peabody, a Golden Globe, and a Screen Actors Guild award, will kick off this fall on Tuesdays at 8 p.m.

Smallville - Season 11 Still a Possibility and Allison Mack is Back?

So yesterday news broke that Season 10 of Smallville would be it's last season and that Allison Mack would not be returning. However, star Tom Welling clarifies that not only if enough fans watch that Season 11 could happen, but also co-star Allison Mack WILL indeed be back but in a "limited" role.

Here is the story thanks to our friends at PopWrap:

News that "Smallville" would be ending next season broke yesterday, breaking fans hearts in the process. But even a CW press release touting the tenth and final season wasn't enough to keep star Tom Welling from telling PopWrap at The CW Upfronts this morning that 2011 might not be the end of Clark Kent's journey.

PopWrap: The network announced next year will be "Smallville's" final season -- bittersweet?
Tom Welling: That’s the funny thing. I’m really excited we have a season 10 – and I don’t want to jump to the sadness of it maybe being the last one. But we actually don’t know. We’ve lasted this long because the of the fans, who knows, if enough people watch this year ... eleven sounds pretty good too!

PW: And Allison Mack will be back, right?
Tom: Allison will be back! Just in a more limited capacity. Don’t worry, Chloe will be a part of season 10.

PW: The show started out with a "no tights, no flight" rule from the creators, but you guys have found clever ways around that over the years. Any feelings about actually seeing Clark slip into red and blue spandex?
Tom: I think there’s always a possibility of that. For me, one of the reasons I’ve felt like the show has been so great is because it follows Clark’s journey into becoming Superman. So if that happens, it will be very late in the season – even possibly the very last thing you see on "Smallville."

PW: What would you like to see next season?
Tom: I’d like to see him get out of the trouble he got into at the end of last season [laughs]. But mostly I’d like to see him with Lex again, I’d like to see Michael [Rosenbaum] back. I think it’d be cool to see Lana and Lois in the same room, that would be very interesting for Clark to be a part of. There’s Justice League possibilities, there’s a lot going on. Ten will be a huge season!

PW: With the possible series finale, one would think you could bring everyone back.
Tom: I hope so! I hope they all feel that way. I’d love to see Annette [O' Toole, plays Martha Kent] back more, Michael McKean [Perry White], John Schneider [Jonathan Kent] – all these guys. They’re all part of the family!

"Smallville" airs Fridays at 8pm on The CW

Smallville - Allison Mack Not Returning for Season 10

Smallville - Allison Mack Not Returning for Season 10

“It’s amazing to think that Chloe Sullivan and I have been one in the same for over a third of my life,” says Mack in an exclusive statement. “I’m truly humbled by the love and loyalty of all the fans whose enthusiasm has carried me — along with a cast and crew which has become my second family — over the past 9 and a half years. Out of respect for the amazingly loyal fans and the place I will always have in my own heart for Chloe, I’m coming back for several episodes next season to tie up Chloe’s Smallville legacy properly.

“It’s been a life-changing ride,” Mack concludes, “and I look forward to what lies ahead with the strength of a ‘superhero’ as my foundation.”

Speculation about Mack’s uncertain Smallville future has been running rampant for months. Exec producer Brian Peterson recently told me he was “very optimistic” that Mack — the show’s last original female cast-member — would be back in the fall.

Dexter - New Season 5 Spoilers About Deb

Question: Do you know if the producers of Dexter have plans to introduce a new love interest for Deb? —Paul
Ausiello: Introduce probably isn’t the right word, since her new love interest is someone she already knows. I’m hearing that new showrunner Chip Johannessen finally going to pull the trigger on a Deb-Quinn romance. Dexter’s going to be so thrilled!

Tom Welling Confirms Season 10 of Smallville is it's Last Season

Discretion and restraint are clearly not among Tom Welling’s superpowers.

The CW was hoping to announce at its upfront presentation Thursday that next season of Smallville — the show’s 10th — would be its last. But Welling — who was expected to deliver said announcement in person — jumped the gun and blabbed it to the press last night.

“Season 10 of Smallville will be the last season” Welling told HollywoodLife.com last night at an event in Beverly Hills.

Undercovers - Official Press Release and Synopsis

‘UNDERCOVERS’ – Acclaimed writer/producer/director J.J. Abrams (“Star Trek," "Fringe," "Lost," "Alias") serves as co-writer, executive producer – and also directs – his first direction of a TV series pilot since “Lost” in “Undercovers” with executive producer/writer Josh Reims (“Brothers and Sisters”). “Undercovers” is a sexy, fun, action-packed spy drama that proves once and for all that marriage is still the world's most dangerous partnership.

Outwardly, Steven Bloom (Boris Kodjoe, “Tyler Perry’s Madea’s Family Reunion,” “Soul Food,” "Resident Evil: Afterlife") and his wife, Samantha (Gugu Mbatha-Raw, “Doctor Who,” “Bonekickers”), are a typical married couple who own a small catering company in Los Angeles and are helped by Samantha’s easily frazzled younger sister, Lizzy (Jessica Parker Kennedy, “Smallville”). Secretly, the duo were two of the CIA’s best spies until they fell in love on the job five years ago and retired. When fellow spy and friend Nash (Carter MacIntyre, "American Heiress") goes missing while on the trail of a Russian arms dealer, the Blooms are reinstated by boss Carlton Shaw (Gerald McRaney, "Deadwood") to locate and rescue Nash.

The pair is thrust back into the world of espionage as they follow leads that span the globe -- and Steven and Samantha realize that this supercharged, undercover lifestyle provides the excitement and romance that their marriage has been missing. Also starring is Ben Schwartz (NBC’s “Parks and Recreation”). "Undercovers" is from Bonanza Productions Inc. in association with Bad Robot Productions and Warner Bros. Television. The pilot was written by J.J. Abrams & Josh Reims and directed by Abrams. Abrams, Reims and Bryan Burk ("Fringe," "Lost, "Alias") are the executive producers.

Vampire Diaries - Major Spoiler Revealed by Katerina Graham

Vampire Diaries - Major Spoiler Revealed by Katerina Graham in this new interview;

NBC Picks Up Chuck for Season 4?

Here is a new story from TV by the Numbers reporting that a reliable source confirmed Chuck will be picked up for 13 episodes for Season 4.

Enjoy:

I’m not able to confirm it yet, but a source that has been very reliable in the past says Chuck has received a standard 13 episode pickup with an option for a back 9. Hardly a shocker if true, unless you were one of those definitively declaring it had zero chance for renewal. If that’s you, please wait for confirmation before going into hiding!

Update: again, my understanding of the deal is that it’s a standard 13+9 order (NBC has the option to order 9 more episodes, commonly referred to as a “back 9″) and that indicates Chuck would be on the fall schedule. Last year (for the current season). Chuck was announced as a mid-season show to begin with last May and there was no “back 9″ attached. Later its air date was pushed up to early January and NBC ordered six additional episodes.

True Blood - Michael Steger to Guest Star

Michael Steger is going from being surrounded by metaphorical bloodsuckers to literal ones: The 90210 actor has been tapped to guest star on True Blood, sources confirm to me exclusively.

Steger will play Tony, a gay prostitute who gets picked up by King of Mississippi Russell Edgington (Denis O’Hare) because of his resemblance to his current steady, Talbot (Theo Alexander).

Steger will appear in one episode of the drama’s upcoming third season and may return on a recurring basis in season 4. Sounds like someone may have discovered a loophole in his 90210 contract. Or maybe not. According to a 90210 insider, there are no plans for Steger to leave the show.
