Chuck - Season 4 Official Renewal Press Release

Thanks to Seat42F for the heads up for this official press release for Season 4 of Chuck:

Now in its third season that concludes with a two-hour season finale on Monday, May 24 (8-10 p.m. ET), "Chuck" is averaging a 2.4 rating, 6 share in adults 18-49 and 6.6 million viewers overall. "Chuck's" ratings increase significantly when all time-shifted viewing is added to its results, growing this season by an average of 22 percent in its 18-49 rating and more than 1.1 million persons in total viewers when going from its "live plus same day" to its "live plus seven day" results from Nielsen Media Research.

Zachary Levi ("Less Than Perfect") stars in the title role as a regular guy working at a Buy More electronics store who becomes the government's most vital secret agent. This season, Chuck was transformed into the Intersect 2.0 after another data download into his brain. This time around, he not only knows government secrets, but he also is well equipped with deadly fight skills. Chuck has the potential to become a real agent and gets a helping hand from one of the CIA's top agents and his dream girl Sarah Walker (Yvonne Strahovski, "Gone").

The ever stoic Colonel John Casey (Adam Baldwin, "My Bodyguard," "Firefly") returns with an unlikely new partner, Chuck's best friend, Morgan Grimes (Joshua Gomez, "Without a Trace"). Also starring are: Sarah Lancaster ("What About Brian?") as Chuck's ever-supportive sister Ellie and Ryan McPartlin ("Living with Fran") as Devon Woodcomb (also known as "Captain Awesome"), Ellie's husband. Chuck's Buy More team consists of Big Mike (Mark Christopher Lawrence, "The Pursuit of Happyness") and the Nerd Herd, which includes Lester (Vik Sahay, "Time Bomb") and Jeff (Scott Krinsky, "The O.C.").

"Chuck" is co-created by Josh Schwartz ("The O.C.," "Gossip Girl") and Chris Fedak, and is executive-produced by Schwartz, McG ("Charlie's Angels," "We Are Marshall"), Fedak, Allison Adler and Matthew Miller. "Chuck" is produced by College Hill Pictures, Wonderland Sound and Vision, in association with Warner Bros. Televis
ion.

NBC Picks Up Chuck for Season 4?

Here is a new story from TV by the Numbers reporting that a reliable source confirmed Chuck will be picked up for 13 episodes for Season 4.

Enjoy:

I’m not able to confirm it yet, but a source that has been very reliable in the past says Chuck has received a standard 13 episode pickup with an option for a back 9. Hardly a shocker if true, unless you were one of those definitively declaring it had zero chance for renewal. If that’s you, please wait for confirmation before going into hiding!

Update: again, my understanding of the deal is that it’s a standard 13+9 order (NBC has the option to order 9 more episodes, commonly referred to as a “back 9″) and that indicates Chuck would be on the fall schedule. Last year (for the current season). Chuck was announced as a mid-season show to begin with last May and there was no “back 9″ attached. Later its air date was pushed up to early January and NBC ordered six additional episodes.

Is Chuck Being Picked Up for Season 4? Most likely!

Is Chuck Being Picked Up for Season 4? Most likely!

Well Ausiello thinks so.

Rather, my spies spy a Chuck pickup. And really, isn’t that better?

Multiple sources confirm that NBC is expected to do the right thing and renew the action comedy for a fourth season. Per one insider, the show has thus far figured into all of the network’s preliminary plans for its May 17 upfront presentation.

Although a 13-episode pickup is the most likely scenario, my moles suggest that there’s also chance the show could be given a full season order.

Series creator Josh Schwartz, on the other hand, says not to believe the hype. Renewal? “That’s news to me,” he swears. “I would urge fans to take nothing for granted… and watch tonight’s all-new episode, guest-starring Doc Brown himself, Christopher Lloyd, and the return of Anna Wu (Julia Ling).” An NBC rep, meanwhile, had no comment.
Listen to the man. And NBC, listen to the fans. Chuck fans, the comments section below is all yours. Post away!

Chuck Renewal is Looking Good

Yesterday on the Heroes Spoilers Page we made a post about NBC saying they want both Heroes and Chuck back.

Today Ausiello from EW is also saying that one his contacts is saying that it is "looking good" for Chuck.

So still nothing official but it seems like Chuck fans can breath a little easier.
