Southland's Move to TNT Almost a Done Deal

Southland's Move to TNT Almost a Done Deal

"Southland" is close to landing at TNT.

The cable network began conversations with corporate sibling Warner Bros. TV, which produces the cop drama, shortly after "Southland" was abruptly canceled by NBC earlier this month.

Though a deal has not been completed, it now appears likely.

If the pact goes though, it would mark a rare resurrection of a canceled broadcast series on cable, something that couldn't be worked out for a slew of other shows, including critical darling "Arrested Development," fan favorite "Moonlight" or veteran "My Name Is Earl."

"Southland," executive produced by John Wells, shot six episodes of its second season before being shut down by NBC.
