Mentalist Episode 1x14 Paint it Red - Set Photos
Last week I had an opportunity to check out some filming for this TV Season's highest rated new show The Mentalist.
The filming took place in a quite gated community in the northern part of the San Fernando Valley and the cast and crew were filming Episode 1x14 Paint it Red. The filming apparently lasted 3 days, but I visited the set on the last day of filming during their final takes at night.
Since filming was taking place during my visit I was unable to get inside the house to see what was happening, but I could clearly see that party scene was being filmed inside the very beautiful mansion. Several luxury cars including a new Corvette and Porsche were in the driveway. I was there long enough to see many of the extras coming in and out of the home and most were women in formal dresses.
I was informed that during the day several scenes were filmed outdoors and in the neighborhood with many of the homes having For Sale signs on the yards. The mansion, the cars and formal dress follow the episode description, which informs us that a dead body will be found near the spot where a $50 million dollar painting was stolen.
I was able to sneak in some quick photos via my cell phone, unfortunately since I was at a distance off the yard and it was pretty dark, the quality of the images is not the greatest.
